Makeup Revolution I ♡ Makeup 'I am...' palettes collection - review and swatches

Hello!
Today I want to share with you my review and swatches of yet another, or rather four, eye shadow palettes. I know, I know, I have way too many palettes but you have to bare with me, eye shadow palettes are my biggest weakness, I get very excited by them and if I could I would probably collect them all.
Last time I was placing a Makeup Revolution order, I checked their palettes selection, as usual, and when I saw this bundle of 4 little palettes for only £10 I couldn't resist. I like Makeup Revolution eye shadows, I think they're great quality, especially considering how cheap they are and the amount of palettes they have is incredible! Granted there are some repeated shades so if you own many palettes from Makeup Revolution you will have some similar/the same shades but if you are new to them or a junkie, just like me, you'd love these little palettes. There are four in the collection: I am Powerful, I am Sexy, I am in Love and I am Naked. You can buy them individually, £4.99 each or in the bundle, currently on offer only £10. The packaging is simple black plastic but sturdy and sleek. Inside there is a little mirror which is always handy if you travel with these palettes or want to touch up your makeup on the go. Also there is a small sponge applicator included (anyone actually using them?).

As you can see each palette has six eye shadows with different colour themes varying from matte to shimmers. Each palette comes with a lipstick in the shade that corresponds with the shades of the eye shadows. The lipsticks are securely placed inside and they can't fall out unless you pull them out. To be honest, I'm not a fan of these lipsticks, the packaging is not the nicest, looks and feels cheap, they're very pigmented and quite moisturising but they accentuate any dryness and two of the shades are really not my cup of tea. But the eye shadows are fantastic, as usual with Makeup Revolution. Smooth, very pigmented, easy to blend and last well on my lids, even without a primer.

In this palette there are taupe/lilac, purple shades for a smokey eye and dark berry lipstick which I actually like. To make a woman feel confident, sexy and powerful. There are two matte shades and 4 shimmery, I absolutely love the second shade in the top row, is a beautiful taupe that I like to apply it all over my lid for a quick everyday look.

 I ♡ Makeup 'I am Sexy' palette.

Sexy smokey eyes and red lips, classic look for when we want to feel extra glamorous and feminine. The first in the top row champagne shade and the one below - taupe-y brown are my favourite and look stunning together. The peachy satin shade is also beautiful and looks so pretty all over the lid with a black eye liner for a quick and simple makeup look.

Pink, romantic shades are in this palette together with baby pink lipstick. If you own the Iconic 3 palette the shades are very similar if not the same. I love the third shade in the top row and the middle one in the bottom row, absolutely stunning golden rose/brown. There are also two matte shades.

 I ♡ Makeup 'I am Naked' palette.

All neutral shades with a nicely looking nude shade lipstick, which unfortunately looks awful on me. The shadows are beautiful with some matte shades and beautiful bronze/golden shimmers.

As you can see every palette has a nice mixture of shades that can create a complete look and take you from day to night with only one palette. I really like them and have been reaching for them every morning to put together a quick makeup look. I like how the shades are grouped in these palettes and make easier to create a specific look because all six colours in a palette go nicely together and sometimes those big palettes can make us feel overwhelmed with too many shades. If you like the look of these cute palettes you can buy them on the Makeup Revolution website.

What do you think of them? Are they something you would like to have in your makeup collection? Let me know, I'd love to hear your opinion.

  2. Makeup Revolution is releasing some really interesting products recently. I really like the concept of getting a palette with a matching lipstick. My favourite ones are the 2 last ones, the pink and the nude. Such a shame the nude lipstick didn't work for you, as it looks so pretty on the swatch. The pigmentation of the shadows is something that always worries me in budget brands, but these look pretty descent. :) x

    1. I found Makeup Revolution eye shadows really good quality and well pigmented, especially for the price, they really can compete with more expensive brands and definitely are one of the best in the drugstore, in my opinion. I don't love all MR products but palettes get a big thumbs up from me :) xx

  4. I love this brand so much and for £10 that is a bargain for all those palettes. I love the one I am sexy and the lip shade is beautiful (who comes up with the names for these though!!)
Over all looks like a lovely set of palettes that would be great for travel too :)

    1. I can't keep up with them neither, every time I place an order they bring something new two days later, haha! These palettes are not new, I've seen them for a while, but only recently they have them on offer so I had to get them :) x

  9. I'm not actually a huge fan of the packaging on these - but the products inside look great! MUR seem to have new ranges coming out constantly, it's incredible!

  10. I didn't actually buy these partly because none of the lipsticks were doing it for me and I figured I could probably get similar eyeshadow shades in their other palettes! xx

    1. The lipsticks are actually unusable for me but the price of the palettes was so low that I didn't care about them. But you're right, having some of the palettes from MR I'm sure you have similar shades already :) x
