Can you believe that the end of January 2015 is coming? It's crazy, it seems like only last week we were celebrating Christmas. Anyway, today I decided to share with you all the beauty products that I reached for most of the time and enjoyed using more than others in the last few weeks.
As an eye shadow palette addict there has to be a palette included in the favourites post, one that I used nearly every day was my new Stila Eyes Are the Windows palette in Spirit (review). I love the shades of the eye shadows, the quality is fantastic, there is nearly no fallout with them which is great when I'm rushing in the morning and want just a quick eye look without worrying about messing up my already applied foundation. And the palette itself is so pretty!
Next is a face primer - The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser, I picked it up in the sales and I'm so glad I did because finally I have found a primer that does make a difference to the longevity of my foundation. This primer is not as silicony as some others, it feels almost like a moisturiser, it contains a tea tree oil and smells lightly of it which makes me feel like I'm actually adding some skincare step in my routine when I'm using it. My foundations apply nicer and last longer, even those that normally don't pass the 4 hour mark, with this primer they easily look good on my skin for 6+ hours. I haven't noticed any pore minimising benefits but I love using this primer regardless and reach for it nearly every day.
My new favourite under eye concealer has been the Maybelline SupeStay Better Skin concealer in the shade Light which makes my dark circle disappear and lasts all day without creasing. Lately I've been getting less sleep than I should and my under eye area reflects that, so I decided to try a different concealer because my trustworthy Rimmel Wake Me Up was not covering the darkness as good. I bought the Maybelline concealer a few months ago, just to try it but didn't fall in love with it until recently when I used it under my eyes. It has slightly pink undertone which makes it perfect to cover the darkness. Really lovely concealer and can be used on any other areas which require some coverage.
Makeup Revolution Radiant Light powder in the shade Breath has been my latest obsession in the highlighters department. It's such a beautiful subtle highlight. The powder is so finely milled and there is no glitter in sight, just this pretty sheen. It makes my skin look like 'glowing from within', I use it on the centre of my face and on top of my cheek bones for a delicate, natural glow.
Milani Baked Blush in Bella Rosa (review) and Milani Colour Statement Lipstick in Plumrose (review) have been a duo that I reach for most mornings, they instantly add a healthy flush of colour to my face, make me look more awake, fresh and young :) And the quality of both of these products is great. Milani lipsticks are one of the best formulas I've tried.
One skincare product that stood out to me in the last couple of weeks is the Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Youth Actiavting Oil. It's a deluxe sample I received a couple of months back in a beauty box, I've been using it every night for 2 weeks and there is still plenty left. It contains pure Rose Hips oil known for its anti-aging properties and fatty acids for brighter, more radiant skin. I really enjoy using this oil, it leaves my skin nourished and looking healthier. And it smells lovely. Let's see if with further use it will reduce some fine lines I have on my forehead. I will probably review this oil once I use it a bit longer so keep your eyes peeled for that :)
So these are my favourite beauty products in January, have you tried any of them? Let me know your thoughts and what you've been loving lately.
