Friday makeup look #1 feat. Makeup Revolution 'Girl Panic' palette

Hello!
Welcome to my new series of makeup looks :) Every Friday I will try to give you some inspiration for an evening out or weekend makeup. Normally on weekends we all tend to have more time on our hands and can experiment more and spend longer in front of the mirror. Well, that's what happens to me anyway :)
I enjoyed so much creating and sharing with you my festive looks and it seems like many of you liked them too (thank you so much to everyone of you who supports me and takes time to read and comments on my blog), so decided to make this kind of posts a permanent feature. Hopefully you'll enjoy them and I will get more creative!
Without further ado let me start on today's makeup look which was based on my latest Makeup Revolution 'Girl Panic' palette (review here).

As you see on the picture above the palette is quite pink toned and sometimes we all get too comfortable with our neutral eye shadows that we forget what to do with other shades. That's why I decided to create an eye makeup using some of those less popular colours. I did this makeup look twice, first, kind of experimenting and because I liked it I recreated it to share it with you.
I used the following shades from the Girl Panic palette:

To start my eye makeup I needed to apply coloured base to my eye lids to help bring out the colour of the eye shadows. I used I heart Makeup by Makeup Revolution All Day & Night pencil eye liner in Dangerous Games and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold.

As usual when doing my 'going out' makeup I do my eyes first to not to worry about any fallout which happens quite a bit with this palette and any palette in fact, especially with darker shades.

Here's the pictorial of how I did my eye makeup.
1 - I applied the grey pencil as a base to my inner and outer third part of the lid.
2 - I packed Get Closer eye shadow on top of the base with a flat shader brush.
3 - In the middle of the lid I applied Pink Gold as a base and followed by Voices In My Head eye shadow, then lightly blended the edges between colours.
4 - With a fluffy crease brush I blended Clever Words in the crease for a definition and to connect all the shades together.
5 - Using small tapered brush I darkened the outer corner of my lid with Demolition and blended it lightly in the crease.
6 - I highlighted the brow bone with matte white eye shadow.

Then I applied my foundation, concealer, powder and filled in my brows with Rimmel Eye Brow pencil in Dark Brown and set them in place with L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper.

7, 8 - I lined my upper lashes with black eye liner winging it out slightly and applied the Makeup Revolution grey pencil to my waterline and my lower lid followed by the Get Closer eye shadow and the Demolition in the outer part of the lid.
I also added some highlighting shade from the palette on the tear ducts.
9 - I coated my lashes with mascara and added some falsies, just because I like it :)

For my lips I used the new Ultra Velour Lip Cream from Makeup Revolution in the  shade 'All I think about is you'.

For the rest of my face I used :
Primer - Makeup Revolution Ultra All day prime and anti-shine balm, I've been using it on and off for a couple of months trying to find the best way to use it but, unfortunately, I don't like it. It feels greasy/tacky on my face, doesn't stop my face from looking shiny all day and doesn't extend the wear-time of my makeup.
Foundation - Revlon ColorStay in Sand Beige, yey for my favourite foundation of 2014 :)
Concealer - one of my all time favourites - Rimmel Wake Me Up in Classic Beige.
Powder - the same as usual- L'Oreal Nude Magique BB powder in Light.
Bronzer - Rimmel Natural bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze.
Blusher/Highlighter - Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' palette (review here) - two pink shades from the top row to add a light flush of pink to my cheeks.
To finish the whole makeup off to extend its longevity and help all the products blend seamlessly together I used a few sprays of the Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Makeup Fixing Spray.

And that's the finished look :)

I like how the makeup turned out, it's a quite romantic look, ideal for Spring time (anyone else counting the days till Spring? ) or perhaps for a Valentine's Day date :)
Let me know if you like this look and if it's something you'd wear.

  1. YES!!! Woo hoo I love these post from you and I really love this look. Forgotten to say that I used your new year eve post to do my eye make up for my new years eve party and it looked fab! I did try to take some photo's but I was running late and they didn't turn out well :)

Like you I am not a fan of the MUR balm, which is a shame as so many people rave about it but I can't seem to get it to work for me.

Anyway love this look and can't wait to try it out :)

  3. I'm so glad you decided to make these makeup look posts a regular weekly thing! This is such a gorgeous shimmery eye and the pink lip works so well with the overall look. I'd love to see a green toned or a burgundy toned eye make up look, as they are the ones I am trying to figure out for myself and it would be nice to see a variation from you x
