Holiday Festive makeup look #3 Purple smokey eyes

Hello!
Today I want to share with you another makeup look which is definitely one for a party or an evening out as the eyes are quite dramatic. For my eyes I used Too Faced 'Chocolate Bar' palette which is my new favourite eye shadow palette ( review here). Because the eyes are on the dark side I kept the makeup of the rest of my face pretty natural.

Here's what I used for the whole makeup look.

Base
Primer - Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser primer.
Foundation - Rimmel Lasting Finish in Classic Beige with a drop of Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover in 2W2 Rattan to balance the pink undertones in the Rimmel foundation.
Concealer - Rimmel Wake Me Up in Classic Beige for under eye area.
Setting powder - L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder in Light.

Cheeks
Bronzer - Rimmel Natural bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze to lightly contour my face.
Blush - NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Rose Glow which is a very natural peachy rose shade ( picture below).
Highlighter - Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' palette, shade first from the left on the second row, it's a gorgeous golden champagne shade, perfect as a highlight on my skin tone (picture below).

Eyes
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in black used as a base for the purple eye shadow.
Too Faced 'Chocolate Bar' palette, the following shades:

1 - Milk Chocolate all over my crease as a transition shade.
2 - Candied Violet applied over black base as on its own is quite sheer. With the black base the colour really pop and the light purple sparkles are nicely visible.
3 - Triple Fudge to darken the outer corner of the eye and blended lightly to the outer part of the crease.
4 - Champagne Truffle for the inner corners.
5 - White Chocolate to highlight the brow bone.

On my lower lid I applied black pencil as well and smoked it with Candied Violet.
I lined my waterline with Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Nude.

I applied L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black mascara to my lashes and added false lashes to add a bit more glamour to the look.

I filled my brows with Rimmel Eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown and applied on top a thin coat of L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper.

Lips

For my lips I used this brown-ish nude Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 220 Heather Shimmer with ModelCo lip gloss in Fairy Floss on top to make the lips look nice and glossy but also to tone down the brown tonnes in the lipstick.

And that is the finished look.

I loved the eyes, unfortunately my pictures don't do the purple eye shadow justice as it looked really gorgeous and sparkly in real life :) But anyway I liked the whole makeup look and will definitely recreate it for another special occasion.

I hope you enjoy these makeup series on my blog and get some inspirations for your party makeup looks.

What is your signature party look? Do you wear dark smokey eyes?

    1. Thanks Cathy! I was scared of them for the longest time until I decided to give them a go. A few first attempts were really awful but now I got the hang of them I love using them, they complete the evening makeup beautifully. I might do a post how I apply them but I can already tell you that I do it with my fingers rather than tweezers :) x

  9. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to doing dark eyes. I tend to stick to my neutral colours most of the time but this look you created is so pretty and suits you really well. Brings out the colour of your eyes. :) xx

  11. I often have the same issue capturing the exact shade of finish of a beauty product. Nevertheless, this purple eye makeup looks gorgeous. I love using purple eyeshadows too, it's not too bright but yet different.

    1. It's frustrating when you aren't able to show the true colours of your makeup, isn't it? I need much better camera! :) Thank you hun! I love using purples as they seem more neutral than other bold colours but, just like you said, different :) x
