15 Festive Favourites Tag

Hello!
I can't believe there is less than 2 weeks to Christmas, the magical time of the year! I love the build-up to Christmas with everyone getting excited for the Holidays, all the parties, shopping, Christmas markets, the whole festivity.
So when I was tagged to do this 15 Festive Favourites tag I knew I will take part as it is so much fun and doing it just put me in a great mood :)
Thank you to Brenda, Alexandra and Jenny for tagging me! Please, check blogs of these gorgeous ladies if you don't follow them already, as they are fabulous.

Let's start with the tag then!

1. FAVOURITE FESTIVE FOOD
I really can't choose, I just love all the food we prepare for Christmas and as me and my husband come from different countries we have lots of different dishes and they are all yummy!

2. FAVOURITE REINDEER
Definitely Rudolph, because of his red nose :)

3. FAVOURITE DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas Eve is my favourite day as we have a long family dinner, we talk, sing carols and then there is still Christmas Day.

4. FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG
I love Michael Buble Christmas album but there is not Christmas without 'All I want for Christmas' by Mariah Carey and 'Last Christmas' by Wham :)

5. FAVOURITE PRESENT
I really appreciate all the gifts, but one particular is my favourite: it was a necklace from my mum which I then wore on my wedding day as it was exactly what I was thinking about and wanted to complement my dress.

6. FAVOURITE FESTIVE FILM
It has to be 'Home Alone' as it can't be Christmas without it :) But I also love watching 'Love Actually' and 'Jack Frost' :)

7. FAVOURITE CRACKER TOY
I don't have any. Even though I've been living in UK for 8 years we haven't really adopted the cracker tradition yet. They do look very pretty as a table decoration though :)

8. FAVOURITE CRACKER JOKE
Just as above, I'm afraid.

9. FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS DECORATION
I just love all the Christmas decorations but I think the favourite has to be Christmas tree as there is nothing like it and adds such a special atmosphere to the house with all the baubles hanging, lights, tinsel and the star on the top :)

10. FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS CANDLE SCENT
Any that will remind me of the fresh pine :) At the moment I love burning in my house Yankee candles called Frosted Spruce and Christmas Eve.

11. FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS TV ADVERT

Definitely Coca-Cola's adverts as it's normally one of the first ones and of course John Lewis are so adorable. I love the one this year with the penguin but I think I loved the last year one, with the snowman, even more, I'm pretty sure I cried when I saw it for the first time :)

12. FAVOURITE FESTIVE TRADITION I love the tradition of our Christmas Eve dinner consisted of lots of different traditional dishes, staying talking and singing carols till the midnight when we used to attend the midnight Mass. We don't go to the church at midnight any more because of our small children but we still have the traditional dinner:)

13. FAVOURITE PLACE TO SPEND CHRISTMAS At home with my family! As this year we are not able to spend this time with my mum and brother I'm looking forward to spend it with my husband's sisters and our closest friends.

14. FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS FACT
Santa Claus comes from a Dutch folk tale based on Saint Nicholas, or Sinterklaas, who gave gifts on December 6 and in fact in my country we still celebrate the 6th December with presents for children.

Gold-wrapped chocolate coins commemorate St Nicholas who gave bags of gold coins to the poor.

15. FAVOURITE SNOWMAN ACCESSORY
I love snowman with hats so it has to be that :)

So this is it! Hope you enjoyed this post and I'm inviting you all to do it :)

I tag to do this tag:
Emma from Speckled Beauty
Jasmine from Jasmine Charlotte
Jessica from Making It Up

If you do this tag, please let me know, as I would love to read your answers.

  1. I love the Coca-Cola Christmas advert too, it makes me think of childhood and it definitely makes you feel all festive! I cried at the John Lewis advert too haha, my family all thought I was being such a baby but it's adorable and so magical. I love fresh pine scents too, I'm currently on the lookout for a gorgeous pine-scented candle :)

  4. I loved reading your answers! Home Alone is also one of my favorite movies. Since you don't do crackers either, do you hang stockings?

  7. Loved reading your answers :) It must be a festive feast round your house on Christmas with two different countries inputting to the menu! Double trouble lol. I had no idea about the Christmas facts so those were really interesting to know - will have to show off my new found knowledge at the christmas table! :) x
