Holiday festive makeup look #1 Bronze eyes, red lips

Hello!
We are approaching the most festive season of the year, full of Christmas parties, meetings and Christmas itself, of course! We all want to look glamorous and special for those occasions and we reflect that with our outfits but also with makeup. I absolutely love getting ready for those special events and creating different makeup looks that suit the occasion.
So with this in mind I've decided to share with you some festive makeup looks that might be inspiration for some of you or just simple enjoyment to see. I love seeing different makeup looks and tutorials are my favourite type of videos to watch.
Obviously, in my post I will only share with you some pictures and shortly describe how I achieved the look.
Just as a disclaimer I have to state that I'm not a makeup artist, nor I consider myself an expert in applying makeup but I love doing it and I want to share my passion with like-minded people :)

So today's look is my classic Christmas makeup with bronze eyes and red lips.
Red lips requires, in my opinion, flawless skin so I did my best by applying Revlon ColorStay in Sand Beige to my face. The foundation has great coverage and good staying power so it's perfect when I want my skin to look flawless all day. To hide under eye dark circles and add a bit of highlight to this area I used Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in Classic Beige. I set everything in place with my new favourite L'Oreal Nude Magique BB powder in Light.

To add a bit of warmth and contour to my face I used Chocolate Soleil bronzer from the Too Faced 'Everything Nice' palette. From the same palette I applied Papa Don't Preach blush and Inner Light highlighter on top of my cheekbones.
I filled my eye brows with Rimmel Eye Brow pencil in Dark Brown .
Before doing my eye makeup I applied Aqua Seal eye shadow primer from Makeup Revolution which is amazing at keeping the eye shadows in place for all day long and adding a vibrancy to all the colours.
For my eyes I used eye shadows from the 'Everything Nice' palette which I'm obsessed with but you can easily use any eye shadows you have with similar colours.

1 - I applied Fawned Of You with a fluffy blending brush all over my crease.
2 - For my entire lid I used After Hours which is a gorgeous shimmery rose champagne colour.
3 - With a tapered blending brush I added Secret Lovers to my outer corner of the eye, blending it into the outer crease and extending a bit towards the end of my brow to create a cat eye effect.
4 - Under my brow, as a subtle highlight, I applied Dream On.
5 - I lined 2/3 of my lower lash line with Secret Lovers and smudged it  to make it look a bit smokey.
6 - To my inner eye corner and inner lower lash line I applied After Hours with a damped detail brush to intensify the highlighting effect of the eye shadow.

Then I lined my upper lash line with Oriflame The One eyeliner in black (which I forgot to photograph) making the outer part thicker to lift up the eyes, you could totally make a beautiful winged liner if it suits your eye shape. I used a nude eyeliner on my waterline, as usual, just to make my eyes look a bit bigger. Then I applied 2 coats of Better Than Sex mascara to my lashes, false eye lashes would look beautiful with this makeup adding more glamour but most of the time I couldn't be bothered with falsies.

And the VIP guest of this look is Sleek True Colour Lipstick Matte in Russian Roulette which is deep, true red colour. It's a matte finish so the staying power of this lipstick is really good and it doesn't smudge around the lips but to be on the safe side I lined my lips with MaXFactor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Red Rush prior applying the lipstick.

To set all my makeup in place and ensure it will last all day I sprayed my face with Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray which is my new found love :)

And here's the finished look :)

Wearing red lipstick makes me feel very feminine, grown up and glamorous and I really liked how the makeup look turned out so will definitely be recreating it for the Christmas Day.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you like wearing red lipstick during the Christmas time :)

    1. Thank you lovely! Definitely the red lipstick is not the easiest to wear but makes you feel just fabulous :) Choose one that is matte as they stick to the lips better and there is less risk of smudged lipstick all over your face :) xx
