If you've been reading my blog for any length of time you should have noticed that I'm absolutely obsessed with eye shadow palettes. I adore them! I love how you have a thought out selection of shades in one place that you can mix and match creating different looks. Before I had my children I used to wear eye shadows nearly every day and smokey eye is my signature look. Nowadays I don't have much time to do my eye makeup every morning without my boys getting their curious hands on my cosmetics so I reserve the big makeup game for weekends when my husband is at home and I can spend as long as I wish in front of the mirror, well, an hour or so before he starts looking for me, haha.
This month I decided to treat myself to some higher end products and while browsing online I came across this beautifully looking eye shadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Most of us, beauty enthusiasts, know ABH for her excellent brow products but, honestly, I didn't have a clue she launched also palettes. In the last few months ABH released three eye shadow palettes in collaboration with different makeup artists. The latest one is the 'Tamanna Palette' in which case Anastasia Beverly Hills teamed up with Tamanna Roashan, well known on instagram as @dressyourface. When I checked her instagram account I immediately fall in love with her work and the decision to buy her palette was made, especially as it's a limited edition :)
The palette's packaging reflects Tamanna’s Indian heritage and has a beautiful gold foil pattern on it with colours that reflect the shades inside. The shadows are housed in a sturdy cardboard case that opens to reveal a good size mirror, it has a magnetic closure and feels quite sturdy. It comes with a double ended brush that is of a good quality, making it ideal to take with you when travelling. The palette includes also 5 'Get the look' cards with steps showing you how to re-create some of the looks that Tamanna had created using the palette. I think it's a brilliant idea, especially for those of us who are not experts in makeup, me included.
The palette consists of 10 eye shadows, 4 matte and 6 satin/shimmery. Each of them is super pigmented and has a creamy, buttery texture. They apply evenly and smoothly and blend easily without losing any colour. There is a minimal fall out but tapping your brush before applying the colour to the lid solves the minor issue. All shades can be used dry or wet which only enhance the beautiful shimmery colours. I've used this palette twice and both times I had my eye makeup on for 10-12 hours and the shadows didn't crease nor fade throughout the day.
Now let me show you closely the shades and swatches.
Fresh - matte white shade with light pink undertones, perfect as a under brow highlight.
Blush - shimmery champagne colour, beautiful to highlight the inner corner of the eye.
Venezia - shimmery blue/teal shade with green undertones that looks blue or sea-green depending on the light.
Gilded - light copper/brown with metallic finish.
Custom - gorgeous taupe colour with grey undertones and metallic/shimmery finish.
Sangria - beautiful cranberry metallic shade with slight purple undertones.
Bengal - matte warm toned caramel brown, perfect crease/transition shade.
Chocolate - matte warm brown with slight red undertones.
China Rose - such an unique and beautiful shade, shimmery coral with pink undertones.
Noir - matte black.
I love how versatile the 'Tamanna Palette' is, consisting of cool and warm tones with matte transition shades, highlight shades, some neutrals and some jewels ones for pop of colour.
I think it's a beautiful palette for Autumn/Winter and I'm in love with it.
I bought it from Cult Beauty for £24 but it seems like it has sold out as it's not longer available and unfortunately I can't find it anywhere online in UK. It is available from US websites only.
But if you can get your hands on it I highly recommend it as it's a gorgeous palette with great quality eye shadows.
Did you know Anastasia Beverly Hills launched eye shadow palettes? Do you have any of them?
