Up until a year ago I was a woman with a healthy amount of make up which included 2, 3 lipsticks at a time. But since venturing into the beauty blogging world everything has changed :)
Now not amount of make up seems to be enough when there are so many beautiful items on the shelves of drugstores, department stores etc. And as my make up collection is growing my love for lipsticks is growing too. I used to be lip gloss kind of girl but not any more! So I'm on the hunt for the perfect shades for me of different colours of lipsticks!
And I've found my ideal nude shade for upcoming Autumn and Winter, yey! Most of the nude shades I've tried before were too pale for me, or too beige-y and I didn't like them. But just recently, in Boots, I started swatching the Rimmel lipsticks and found one that seemed to be just right.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 08 (RRP £5.49).
It's my first lipstick from Rimmel by Kate line but definitely not the last one as I really like the formula and will be getting more shades for sure.
The shade 08 is a beautiful rosy beige with some mauve undertones that it's just the perfect 'nude' for me with the right balance between pink and beige. I feel like the shade is very flattering and it doesn't make me look washed out or like a dead person. I think it's very Autumn/Winter appropriate as well.
Let's have a look at the swatches, shall we?
I'm absolutely in love with this lipstick! The formula is great! The lipstick is very creamy, applie smoothly without any dragging or pulling, it doesn't accentuate any dry patches and the finish is satin with a subtle gloss. It doesn't dry out my lips, it's not overly moisturising but I feel completely comfortable for around 3 hours with the lipstick on and my lips have the tendency to feel dry very quickly. I normally moisturise them well anyway before applying any coloured lip product.
The name suggests that the lipstick should last on the lips long time but it's not an all day product, I have to reapply it after about 3, 4 hours but it wears off evenly so it doesn't look patchy after couple of hours. And that's good enough for me. Also it smells really pleasantly sweet and the packaging is nice as well with secure closure so no mess in your make up bag!
I can't wait to try more shades from Rimmel Lasting Finish range!
