Love Me Beauty - August Edition

Hello!
It's time again for my Love Me Beauty box review! This month I wasn't too excited about the menu selection as it seemed a bit similar to the previous month's box but at the end I decided to order it as one of the product stood out to me and it made already the box worth it. So let's have a look what's inside my box.

Love Me Beauty August Edition

Love Me Beauty August Edition

ORIFLAME Ecollagen Wrinkle Correction Eye Cream, full size, RRP £16.95 - this is the product that made me pick this menu. I am in a need of new eye cream and this one with its claims 'to help stimulate collagen production and re-plump wrinkles from within' sounds really good and even though I only had some fine lines around my eyes I definitely will be happy to get rid of them.

MARSK Mineral Eye Shadow 'You're toast', full size, RRP £ 14.95 - I've never heard of this brand before but they're Sydney - London based company producing make up from natural, organic ingredients. The eye shadow is a beautiful beige shade with satin finish, very soft and easy to blend. I will definitely get use of this.

MIRABELLA Lip Luster Liner 'Bashful', full size, RRP £ 10.50, another brand I've not heard of before but that's what is exciting about beauty boxes, to discover new products and brands! This lip liner is a pretty pink colour with purple undertones, super soft and rather moisturising so it will be great to apply it all over the lips as a base for a lip gloss. I'm very happy with it.

A LA CARTE Smudge Proof Eyebrow Definer in Blonde, full size, RRP £23, firstly the shade can't be 'Blonde' as it's a deep brown  and while it looked perfect for my eyebrows when swatched on my hand it became darker when applied to my actual brows. The concept is great, the liner is really smudge proof, unfortunately it looks too harsh on my eyebrows. I will experiment with it more to see if I can work with it somehow. A bit disappointing.

In overall, I received 4 full size products with total value of £65 which is incredible for a box that costs £10 + p&p. Not all the products are super exciting but I will definitely use most of them and I got to be introduced to new brands which is great.

Do you subscribe to Love Me Beauty? If so what products did you get?

  1. I noticed with the liner, the colour actually turns an almost army green when it's exposed to air... then it looks rather horrible.
And sadly for the, the Oriflame irritated the skin around my eyes so badly, I can't use it :/

    1. I agree that the liner seems to change colour and it doesn't look good on the brows. The eye cream I've tried only once but didn't have any irritation but now you scared me, haha. Thanks for commenting!

  2. Do you think the Love Me Beauty menus are consistently good? I've been toying with the idea of trying this, but I don't want to end up with products I'll never use. I love the idea of trying out products not known to me, but £10+ is still a lot to pay for back-of-the-drawer products. I'd love to know what you think and if you can recommend it. The contents seem to be more select than other similar schemes. Thanks for the review!

    1. It is a very good beauty box and the fact that you can choose the menu that suits you best is very appealing to me but not every month I was completely happy with the selection of products if I'm honest. The one box that has been consistently great, in my opinion, is You Beauty Discovery box which I also reviewed a few days ago and this one costs only £6.95 including p&p so maybe try with this one instead to see how you like it. Thanks for your comment!

  3. I really loved this month's boxes, and I chose the same menu as you! I had problems with the eye cream (seems quite a few did though) but the brow pen works well as an eyeliner too :D xx

    1. I've tried the eye cream only once and it didn't irritate my skin but after reading yours and some others reviews I'm terrified to try it again, haha. It would be a shame as the cream was the main reason for choosing this box. xx

  4. I have not tried this beauty box - I am currently signed up to Glossybox. But this box looks really interesting and this box seems better value for money than some of the Glossybox's I have had!

    1. This is really good box but my favourite is You Beauty Discovery, check that out, it's always a great value for money and you get to choose your two products. xx
