The new Barry M Collection is called Aquarium and it consists of 4 two-tone shades and two glitter polishes inspired by the colours of the sea and underwater life.
Ever since I saw first pictures of this collection on beauty blogs I knew I had to pick some of them.
The first ones I bought are Pacific and Mermaid. They make me think of Summer holidays somewhere warm, of turquoise sea, sandy beaches, delicious cocktails... a girl can dream:)
So back to those polishes, even though, in my opinion, they are perfect for Summer I couldn't wait to wear them on my nails and here we are.
I'm wearing two coats of Pacific on my nails with the accent nail topped with Mermaid.
Pacific - it's a duo-chrome blue polish with hint of green and shimmery metallic finish. Depending on how the light hits the nail is blue or turquoise in colour. The formula of the varnish is quite thin and the first coat is very sheer and streaky but two coats make it opaque. It dries up pretty quickly. The brush leaves some streaks so it's best to use a clear top coat to make them invisible. Can't judge on the staying power as it's my first time wearing this but after 2 days I have only tiny chips and I'm about to move houses so lots of packing and cleaning is involved.
Mermaid - it's a blue, green and gold glitter with different sizes of foil immersed in clear base. It complements the Pacific beautifully. It's quite gritty on the nails so I prefer to apply a top coat to smooth things out. You need to play around a bit with the foil shreds to spread them evenly on the nail but that is to be expected from this kind of glitter.
I absolutely adore these duo from Barry M Aquarium Collection and I can see myself wearing it a lot in the next few months.
Have you bought anything from this collection? Do you like duo-chrome nail polishes?
