I love playing with make up, and creating lovely smokey eyes but not every day it's possible. With two small children and lots of housework my everyday make up routine is very quick and simple. So I don't spend hours in front of a mirror but still look like I had a good night sleep (what's that?) and can go out with kids feeling comfortable in my own skin.
My base products:
Foundation: Collection Lasting Perfection in Ivory, my 'go to' base at the moment, it gives me good coverage and it's the perfect shade for me right now. I apply it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
Concealers: Rimmel Wake Me Up in True Ivory, it's great for covering my under eyes dark circles.
Seventeen Stay Time in Fair, I use it to cover some red patches or spots on my face, the shade is matching my skin well and the staying power is good.
Both of my concealers I apply with my fingers as I found the warmth of my skin helps to blend them in perfectly.
Powder: to set my make up and mattify my skin I use my all time favourite Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent with big soft brush.
I keep my eye make up very minimal. I fill in my brows with Rimmel Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and finish with Maybelline BROWdrama in Medium Brown to keep the brows in place all day.
Then I line my waterline with Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in Nude to disguise any redness and give my eyes fresh, bright look.
To define my lashes I use NYC Volumizing Mascara Show Time in Black. This is not the best mascara I own but I've been reaching for it lately a lot as it leaves my lashes very natural looking without clumping them and no smudging.
A blusher to add some colour to my face is a must! This one is MUA in Candyfloss, it's a lovely deeper pink colour with very slight shimmer which gives my cheeks healthy glow. I like to apply my blush with this e.l.f. Studio Stipple Brush as it doesn't let me overdo it and blends the product perfectly.
As for the lips anything glossy with a hint of colour will do, lately I've been loving this Neal's Yard Remedies Lip Gloss in Goji Berry ( which was a free gift with April issue of Marie Clair, read here) as it gives me just a bit of colour but it's super moisturising and leaves my lips nourished.
And the final effect:
As you can see it's kind of 'no make up' make up but good enough for me on days when I don't have anything special planned but still want to look like a human:)
