#Makeup Monday - New Year's Eve party dramatic eyes makeup look

Hello!
Welcome back to my blog after a short break :) Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got lots of lovely gifts! I certainly did! Now it's time to get ready for the New Year's Eve party! Even though this year we are staying at home with some friends to welcome the New Year I still want to take the opportunity to look glamorous because if that night is not the perfect occasion to do so than I don't know what is :)
I decided to focus my makeup look on eyes and keep the rest of my face quite nude.

Manicure Monday #27 Sparkly nails

Hello!
Welcome to the last Manicure Monday post before Christmas! Wow! Where the year has gone!
This time I wanted to create an effect of falling snow on my nails but as I didn't found any white glitter in my collection I used silver instead and while the final effect doesn't resemble snow it looks very Christmas-y and festive and I love it.
I used a lovely nude shade 'Almond' by BarryM as my base colour and then I applied very thin layers of glitter (Ciate 'Locket') to achieve a gradient effect.

Makeup Revolution 'Girl Panic' eye shadow palette - review and swatches

makeup Revolution Girl Panic palette

Hello!
Makeup Revolution has become my favourite budget brand when it comes to eye shadow palettes, their quality is really good, especially for the price. On top of that they release new palettes every couple of months and the eye shadow palette - addict in me can satisfy the growing appetite for new palettes without ruining my bank account balance :)
Today I am reviewing one of the latest eye shadow palettes from Makeup Revolution called 'Girl Panic' (£6) which is named after the Duran Duran song, I believe :)

Holiday festive makeup look #4 Sparkly eyes and berry lips

Hello!
Today I'm sharing with you 4th and last before Christmas festive makeup look. I've been enjoying so much creating these kind of posts that I might actually make it a weekly feature on my blog :)
I can't believe that next week we'll be after Christmas Day already! Hope you're all having fun getting ready for the most magical time of the year. I certainly am!
Today's makeup is softer and more subtle than the previous ones but still looks elegant and festive with sparkly eyes.
To create my eye makeup I decided to use this time a budget friendly eye shadow palette from Makeup Revolution called 'Death by Chocolate'. I reviewed this palette a few months ago and this post has been my most viewed one with nearly 4000 views which is absolutely crazy considering how little my blog is. So thinking that many of you might have this palette or think of buying it I created the makeup look using it.

Manicure Monday #26 Christmas red

Models Own Diamond Luxe Marquise Maroon

Hello!
December and particularly Christmas is the time of the year when I reach for red nail polish quite often. It's such a classic, glamour colour and just perfect for the Holidays, just like the red lipstick. I have a few red nail polishes in my collection and I wasn't planning on buying any more but then I came across the Models Own stand in Superdrug and saw the range of the Diamond Luxe nail polishes (apparently they contain real diamond dust) and just couldn't leave without the shade called Marquise Maroon :)
For me it's a Christmas in a nail polish!

Holiday Festive makeup look #3 Purple smokey eyes

Hello!
Today I want to share with you another makeup look which is definitely one for a party or an evening out as the eyes are quite dramatic. For my eyes I used Too Faced 'Chocolate Bar' palette which is my new favourite eye shadow palette ( review here). Because the eyes are on the dark side I kept the makeup of the rest of my face pretty natural.

Here's what I used for the whole makeup look.

Too Faced 'Chocolate Bar' Palette - review and swatches

Hello!
If you've seen my Christmas wish list you know that one of the gifts on it was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I had wanted to have it for so long but the price tag of £45 was putting me off. A few weeks ago Debenhams had 10% off of beauty and that's when I convinced my husband he should get me this palette as my Christmas present. And so he did :)
But as I am very impatient creature, I wasn't able to wait till Christmas to start playing with this beauty so here I am, reviewing the Chocolate Bar palette after couple of weeks of using it.

Manicure Monday #25 Silver glitter

Hello!
Last Saturday we had a Christmas dinner with our friends so my nails had to be festive :) As I accessorised my outfit with silver jewellery I wanted my nails to match that but at the same time I didn't like them all to be silver so I paired these two gorgeous nail polishes together: Essie 'Ssssexy' and Ciate 'Locket'.

Holiday Festive makeup look #2 Peacock eyes

Hello!
I'm coming back today with another festive makeup look, this time is one definitely for a party or an evening out. I used again the Too Faced 'Everything Nice' palette because I'm obsessed with it but also, because it has this gorgeous teal/emerald shade that I wanted to use on my eyes. As the eyes are quite bold I kept the makeup of the rest of my face rather nude.
So here's what I used to create my party look.

Meet Anna - NARS Audacious Lipstick

Hello!
I don't think NARS Audacious Lipsticks need any introduction at all, if you're a regular reader of beauty blogs you've certainly seen reviews of those lipsticks, you even might have some already in your collection or at least on your wish list :)
I had wanted one of the NARS Audacious Lipstick basically since their launch and after reading so many rave reviews I was just waiting for the opportunity to see them in the shop and to choose the shade. Unfortunately where I live we don't have Selfridges, or SpaceNK and getting anything from NARS is pretty much an online experience. So I was looking at the swatches online and decided that shade called Anna will be the perfect one for my everyday, kind of nude, lipstick. But that particular shade was only available on SpaceNK website and I refused to pay £5 delivery charge for one lipstick which is already expensive on its own. And then one day I was searching the website, just like you do, and noticed that they were having free delivery on all orders, you can't imagine my excitement when I finally ordered the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna :)

Manicure Monday #24 Festive purple

Hello!
For this week's manicure I've chosen this gorgeous deep, muted purple shade from Essie called 'Damsel in a dress'. The colour is beautiful on its own but to make it more festive looking I applied BarryM 'Crystal Glaze' glitter on top which looks quite peachy coral in the bottle but one coat of it is really transparent with different sizes of foil particles that add a nice subtle sparkle to the nails.

November beauty favourites

November beauty favourites

Hello!
During the last couple of months I bought lots of new makeup items, some were amazing, some just really average but there are a few that I'm reaching for nearly every day so they made to the top of beauty products for the month November.
Can I just digress and say where the hell this year has gone? We are welcoming the last month of the year, how crazy is that?
Anyway, let me tell you which beauty products really stood out for me this month.

Holiday festive makeup look #1 Bronze eyes, red lips

Hello!
We are approaching the most festive season of the year, full of Christmas parties, meetings and Christmas itself, of course! We all want to look glamorous and special for those occasions and we reflect that with our outfits but also with makeup. I absolutely love getting ready for those special events and creating different makeup looks that suit the occasion.
So with this in mind I've decided to share with you some festive makeup looks that might be inspiration for some of you or just simple enjoyment to see. I love seeing different makeup looks and tutorials are my favourite type of videos to watch.
Obviously, in my post I will only share with you some pictures and shortly describe how I achieved the look.
Just as a disclaimer I have to state that I'm not a makeup artist, nor I consider myself an expert in applying makeup but I love doing it and I want to share my passion with like-minded people :)

So today's look is my classic Christmas makeup with bronze eyes and red lips.

Milani Colour Statement Lipsticks - one of the best drugstore lipsticks I've tried

Milani Colour Statement Lipstick

Hello!
Milani is a brand I've heard a lot about from American bloggers/vloggers but haven't explored myself as their products are not readily available in UK. One day I was browsing through beauty department on Amazon website and I came across some of Milani products and decided to try something. As I'm becoming slightly obsessed with lipsticks lately I ordered three of their Colour Statement Lipsticks in shades:
17 Plumrose, 21 Sangria and 25 Naturally Chic.

Manicure Monday #23 Getting festive with nails

Hello!
This week I'm back with dark nails but this time the finished look is more appropriate for the festive season we are approaching and all the Christmas parties and meeting we'll be having :) I used Essie nail polish in the shade called Dive Bar and a BarryM glitter in Mermaid.

Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' blush palette - review

Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar blush palette

Hello!
Recently I bought some new products from Makeup Revolution as you could see in my haul post, one of them being the 'Golden Sugar' blush palette (RRP £6). The palette comes in a black box which makes it look already more expensive than it is. The packaging itself is a sleek black plastic case with very secure closure which I actually struggle to open every single time, no risks of accidental opening here or your children trying to play with your blushes :) Inside there is a large mirror which is always a bonus.
What attracted me to this palette was the selection of shades which look very Autumn/Winter appropriate. I ordered it online and the only swatches I saw were the ones on the website but for the price I was ready to take the risk.

Manicure Monday #22 Essie 'Mamba'

Essie mamba

Hello!
This week I'm showing you a nude manicure, something different from all the darker shades that I've been loving lately. Recently I picked up some Essie nail polishes from Fragrance Direct and while they are not from the latest collections there are still some gorgeous shades to choose from.
I used to be a nude nails kind a girl but now I like to explore different colours and actually nude nail polish rarely can be seen on my nails nowadays. But after finishing my manicure I just remembered why I used to love nude nails, they look elegant, classy and are suitable for any occasion.

Makeup Revolution little haul

Makeup Revolution haul

Hello!
Since the launch of their first products at the beginning of April I've been a fan of Makeup Revolution. Not all their products I've tried worked well for me but eye shadow palettes and blushes are definitely great and I really have to stop myself from buying all of them, especially with new exciting launches every couple of months. Recently Makeup Revolution added to their collection some interesting new products and as I actually needed some things I ordered a few bits and pieces.

3 Eye Makeup Looks using the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette

Hello!
Eye shadow palettes are my favourite makeup items and I've been thoroughly enjoying the new Urban Decay Vice 3 palette (review) for the last 2 weeks loving it even more than at the beginning. I've created different eye makeup looks from very neutral to dramatic, to fun colourful ones. There are lots of possibilities as the palette consists of great range of shades. I love experimenting with my eye makeup and even though I'm not a makeup artist nor an expert in applying my makeup I still like to share with you, guys, my creations.

Another Monday and another manicure post :) If you haven't noticed already I love painting my nails and with the colder months I really embrace the dark nails trend and rock all those brown, burgundy, berry shades on my hands every day.
This week I've chosen for my manicure an oldie but goodie :) Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Haute Chocolate.

Hello!
If you've seen my latest 'Haul post' you know that I treated myself to the latest Dior foundation Diorskin Star. After hearing and reading so many positive reviews and considering it's THE Dior I didn't hesitate and without even trying out a sample first I just handed out my money and became a happy owner of the new foundation in the shade 020 Light Beige :)

Look Fantastic beauty box - November edition

Hello!
Look Fantastic, an excellent online retailer for every beauty enthusiast, lunched their own beauty box three months ago and it's been a massive hit since. I ordered my first box in September and loved all the products. Then I skipped the October one as I didn't believe it would live up to the first box standards but I was wrong as the box was again fantastic so without hesitation I pre-ordered November edition and I'm super excited to share with you that it's again an excellent beauty box.
Look Fantastic beauty box usually contains 6 product samples which normally are more like travel sizes so you'll really get to try the products and find out if they're suitable for you. Every month Look Fantastic beauty box contains samples of products from premium brands, which is amazing way of trying some more luxurious products without the high price tag.

Urban Decay Vice 3 palette - review and swatches

Hello!
I know, I know, yet another mega eye shadow palette :) I just love, love , love eye shadow palettes, and with all the Holidays limited editions it's so hard not to buy at least couple of them. I had wanted to buy Urban Decay eye shadow palette for some time but, first, I couldn't justify paying the high price for them, then I couldn't decide which one to go for. All the Naked palettes look very beautiful but as I have already all the dupes I just didn't want to pay nearly £40 for shades that don't excite me anymore. And then I saw some sneak peaks of the new Vice 3 palette and I knew straight away that this is going to be my first Urban Decay palette. As much as I love neutral shades I also adore bright colours and experimenting with my makeup looks so Vice 3 palette seems like the perfect combo :) As soon as it was released in UK I ordered it and I love it!

Manicure Monday #20 Rimmel 'Black Cherry'

Hello!
For this week's 'Manicure Monday' post I'm bringing you this gorgeous deep aubergine colour from Rimmel I heart Lasting Finish in Black Cherry. The nail polish contains very fine red glitter particles which make it look more like actual cherry red in some lights, unfortunately my camera didn't pick it out. Anyway it's another autumnal shade and I'm obsessed with dark nails at the moment :)

October collective beauty haul

Hello!
As a beauty addict enthusiast I love to buy new beauty products and no month is exception from this but there are months that I really stick to those everyday essentials which had to be replaced and there are months that my debit card is in constant use ;) October has been the month of treating myself to a few early Christmas gifts. Some of the products I bought has made their way onto my blog already, some haven't and maybe never will so I thought I will share with you what I bought recently.
I always like to have a nosey at what others have been buying from the beauty shelves so I hope you'll enjoy reading about my collective haul :)

3 Eye Makeup Looks using the Too Faced 'Everything Nice' palette

Too faced Everything Nice palette - makeup looks

Hello!
After using the Too Faced 'Everything Nice' palette for the last week I can honestly say that I'm loving it even more! (You can read my review here). The quality of the eye shadows is amazing, they have great pigmentation, blend beautifully and last long on my lids without creasing and fading. Couple of those very shimmery shades have tendency to fall out but tapping off the excess product from the brush and being carful with application minimise the problem. The cheek products are also excellent and I've been loving especially the Papa Don't Peach blush - gorgeous peachy coral.

There are 20 eye shadows so the possibilities for makeup looks are nearly endless. You can create subtle natural day look, go smoky for the evening or completely crazy with all the jewel tones for a party. This palette is very versatile and for someone, like me, who loves experimenting with different colours it's just perfect.

My current favourite medium/full coverage drugstore foundations

Full coverage drugstore foundations

Hello!
When it comes to foundation I prefer those which give me medium to full coverage, especially during colder months when 'the makeup melting off' is not an issue. My skin has very uneven tone with some hyperpigmentation, redness, broken capillaries and large pores. So if I do my makeup I want my skin to look as much perfected as possible without looking like a mask. Finding the right foundation with fuller coverage is not easy, but after trying many drugstore offerings I decided to share with you my current favourites. All three foundation claim to be full coverage and apart from one they're more suitable for combination/oily skin. For reference my skin is combination with oilier T-zone but also with some dry patches appearing out of nowhere ;)

Too Faced 'Everything Nice' Palette - first impressions and swatches

Too faced Everything Nice palette

Hello!
Today I'm very excited to share with you my first impressions of the gorgeous palette 'Everything Nice - That's What Pretty Girls Are Made Of' by Too Faced.
Ever since seeing a sneak peak of this palette on The Sunday Girl blog last month I was in love with it and dreaming of getting it. It's a limited edition palette launched for the 2014 Holiday season and the packaging screams parties, Christmas, New Year and it's super cute.
I didn't think I would get this palette as it seemed like it was only available in US Sephora and I didn't plan on placing an international order but one evening I was browsing my favourite beauty websites and saw that Beauty Bay was stocking this palette. Without thinking twice I ordered it!
It's an expensive palette, costing £45, and normally I don't spend that much on a single makeup item but I just couldn't help myself. I've been lusting after some Too Faced palettes for the last few months and seeing that this mega palette contains 20 big sized eye shadows and 4 cheek products I somehow justified the splurge.

Kiss Proof Lip Colour? Rimmel Provocalips

Rimmel Provocalips in Make your Move

Hello!
I'm coming back today with yet another lip product, you can clearly see the lipstick addict I'm becoming :) I picked this lipstick in Asda while doing my weekly shopping just because it was on offer and I thought that it has similar formula to a lipstick I've tried before from L'Oreal, the Infallible 24H Lip Colour which I was impressed with. The shade I chose is called Make Your Move and it's a brown-y pink nude, bang on trend with the 90s!

Manicure Monday #18 So Susan 'Dark Denim' & Aqua Marine

So Susan 'Dark denim' So Susan 'Aqua marine'

Hello!
Ever since I received the So Susan Lacquerlove box last month I knew I will pair these two nail polishes together as 'Aqua Marine' is a very sheer nail polish which requires many coats to get an opaque finish. So I thought that using it as a top coat over a darker polish would give a nice effect.

Splurge or Save? #2 Benefit the Porefessional vs L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream

L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream

Hello!
Face primer is not something I use everyday before applying my makeup, mostly because I don't remember about it, don't have time in the morning for the extra step and also I haven't noticed a massive difference between how my makeup performs during the day with and without primer.
Nevertheless I am still looking for the one perfect, miracle product that will make my skin look airbrushed and my makeup flawless for the whole day.
My main skin concerns are large pores, uneven complexion and some pigmentation. A good foundation evens out my skin tone but doesn't make my pores look significantly smaller so that's where the primer should come with help. I've tried many primers that claim to minimise the appearance of pores and some of them do it better than others but I'm yet to find the one that I'm 100% happy with.

FOTD #3 Romantic eye makeup look using 'Tamanna Palette'

Tamanna palette

Hello!
Following my review of 'Tamanna Palette' I decided to share with you, guys, one of my eye makeup looks created with this palette. I really love the quality of the eye shadows and how versatile this palette is. I've been reaching for it every time I have the chance and time to do my eye makeup. The look I am going to share with you today was inspired by one of the 'Get the look' cards that came with the palette. But as I have quite small, slightly hooded eyes and very small area under brows I always have to adapt the makeup looks I see somewhere to my needs and what works best for me.
Just as a quick disclaimer, I'm not an expert in makeup, I'm just a girl who loves to play with it :)

Beautiful Autumnal 'Tamanna Palette' by Anastasia Beverly Hills

Tamanna Palette

Hello!
If you've been reading my blog for any length of time you should have noticed that I'm absolutely obsessed with eye shadow palettes. I adore them! I love how you have a thought out selection of shades in one place that you can mix and match creating different looks. Before I had my children I used to wear eye shadows nearly every day and smokey eye is my signature look. Nowadays I don't have much time to do my eye makeup every morning without my boys getting their curious hands on my cosmetics so I reserve the big makeup game for weekends when my husband is at home and I can spend as long as I wish in front of the mirror, well, an hour or so before he starts looking for me, haha.

The Lip Product Addict Tag

The lip product addict tag picture

Hello!
I'm coming back with another tag, this time I'm going to tell you about my latest obsession: lip products.
So thank you to lovely Alina from Beauty with Charm who tagged me to do this post!
Up until a year ago, basically until I started reading beauty blogs I was the kind of girl with couple of lipsticks, a lip gloss and a lip balm. I didn't care too much about that part of my makeup and wasn't really excited about lipsticks. But that has changed a lot, especially since I started my blog, suddenly I realised I can't wear the same nude lipstick all year round, every day. So I decided to have a good browse in old good Boots in lipsticks section. And, oh boy, that was it! So many different shades, finishes, formulas! How could I ever lived with only one lipstick?!
My collection of lip products and my passion for them is slowly growing so this tag is a great fun for me to do it.
Let's get to it!

To choose my two products was a tough decision but I settled for a Murad face exfoliator and Illamasqua lipstick which I got very excited about when I saw it being one of the products to choose from.

Manicure Monday #16 OPI 'Kermit Me To Speak'

Hello!
This week I'm wearing on my nails this duo-chrome nail polish by OPI from The Muppets Collection in the shade 'Kermit Me To Speak'. I just love the names of OPI nail polishes!
I bought this one back in the Summer but didn't want to wear it at that time as with those purple/golden tones this shade is more Autumn appropriate for me. So here we are, rainy, windy, cold grey Monday and my nails looking very autumnal :)

Maybelline Intense Velvet Lip Pencils

Hello!
If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that I'm becoming obsessed with lipsticks and I can't believe that I neglected this area of makeup for so long! lol
Now every time I'm anywhere close to any beauty/makeup shelves I need to check the new lip products and swatch them all! (I'm so grateful to always have with me baby wipes, they're so handy when you have a half of your arm covered in different shades of lipsticks.) Most of the time I stop myself there and leave the makeup displays with empty basket but when I tried the new Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils (£4.99) I knew I had to have some of them.

FOTD #2 Berry lips and eyes - Autumnal look

Hello!
I've been lately very obsessed with berry coloured lipsticks, the one I've been loving is from Rimmel by Kate #30 and I try to wear every time I can. One Saturday I decided to glam myself up a bit and create a makeup focused on the berry lips with not too dramatic eye but also with a touch of berry shade on the lids.
I remembered this gorgeous eye shadow from Makeup Revolution 'Eyes like Angels' palette which is called 'Sophisticated Pink' but for me it's really a cranberry colour and I used it for my eye lids.

Monthly Beauty Favourites #6 - September

September Beauty favourites

Hello!
I can't believe it's the end of September, this month really flew by like no other for me. When I started seeing a couple of days ago in my Bloglovin feed 'September favourites' posts I was quite shocked that the end of the month has come so quick.
Anyway, back to my beauty favourites, there are only three products I've decided to feature this month. I still absolutely love my August favourites and as I didn't buy much beauty products during September there were not that many products in my everyday routine that hasn't been reviewed or featured before.
So let me tell you about those new beauties who stood out for me this month.

Hello!
Just recently I was tagged by lovely Brenda from Brenda BusyBee blog to do the Makeup Tag ( read hers post here) and as it's always fun to answer some make up questions I've decided to participate.
So here's the questions and my answers...

WHAT FOUNDATION  DO YOU USE?
I keep switching foundations and still looking for my holy grail one but recently I picked in Asda, while doing shopping, Rimmel Lasting Finish just because was on offer and I am really loving it. I didn't expect it to be this nice. Keep an eye for the review:)

Disappointing products #1

Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover

Hello!
Every now and then we all buy product that doesn't perform as we expected and leaves us feeling disappointed. It happens to me quite often even though I try to make my research before buying certain products and normally I'm not an impulsive buyer who throws to the basket whatever catches my eye. But I still end up with beauty products that I'm not happy with. It doesn't mean they're bad, they just either don't work for me or didn't meet my high expectations.
Writing this post I don't want anyone to put off of getting certain products, I just want to share my honest opinion and my experience. Obviously everyone is different, with different preferences and expectations so if something is not good for me it doesn't mean it will be bad for you as well.
Having that in mind let me tell you about some of my 'disappointing' products.

Monday Manicure #14 Maybelline Gel Nail 'Berry Stain'

Maybelline Super Stay Berry Stain

Hello!
Another week and another Autumnal manicure post, this time I've chosen this beautiful berry/purple shade called Berry Stain from Maybelline Super Gel Nail Color (£4.49) range. It's  my first nail polish from this range and so far I'm impressed with it.

Empties #4 Skincare

"Empties"

Hello!
I haven't written 'Empties' post for a while as I'm not sure if I want to make it a regular series on my blog but seeing empty bottles and containers lying around my bathroom and bedroom I've decided to gather them together and show you what I've used up recently. As I don't want this post to be too long I split all the 'empties' into categories and today it's a skincare bit.
